Education: Education at the Rietveld Akademie in Amsterdam, then followed courses in London at Morsley College and the Camden Art Center. Lived and worked in Amsterdam.
In the early years of his career as an artist, he became mainly known for color etchings, although he also makes lithographs and paintings. Cees Landsaat made his debut at Galerie Liernur in The Hague, after which many exhibitions followed. The series of color etchings are striking for their playfulness and the remarkable use of colour, sometimes excessive, sometimes limited and supportive. The imagination of this artist is uninhibited and sometimes the technical ability in the graphic work seems unlimited. In a later period there was more distance from graphic work and Cees Landsaat limited himself to painting. Cees Landsaat has provided many set and costume designs for the theater work of his partner Ad de Bont.
