Education: Friday followed his education at the Academy for Visual Education in Tilburg and at the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. Friday has also worked in Veldhoven and Bergeijk, among others.
Geert Vrijdag's work is reminiscent of Cobra in its abstraction and abundance of colors, but nevertheless has its own style. Friday worked without a preconceived idea, apart from figuration. The process of creation was very important to him. He said that a basic meditative posture allows him to work intuitively. "Something looms up from that emptiness; something unknown that wants to be known. I record the encounter with that unknown in form, colour, movement and material," says Vrijdag. He tried to banish routine and tradition from the process of going beyond the observable world.
Exhibitions and prizes:
Since 1988 he has exhibited several times throughout the Netherlands and his work was shown at the European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht.
