Johan Hendrik (Hans) van Ieperen was born on March 4, 1909 in Rotterdam and died on June 6, 1995 in The Hague.
Van Ieperen was a student at the Academy of Visual Arts and Technical Sciences in Rotterdam (1927). He was taught, among other things, by Herman Mees (1880-1964). He painted, watercolored and drew.
Van Ieperen worked in Rotterdam (until 1942), Epe, The Hague (from 1946). He was a member of Pulchri Studio. Won several prizes: Vrouwe Vigelius Prize (1938, 1941 and 1947), Willink van Collen Prize (1943).
His work can be found in Museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Museum Bommel van Dam in Venlo and the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag.
