Henc van MAARSEVEEN (Utrecht 1926 - Gouda 2012)
Graphic artist, painter, etcher, engraver.
Education: Henc van Maarseveen studied at the Artibus Academy in Utrecht. He has worked in Utrecht, Paris and since 1966 in Gouda.
Henc van Maarseveen is known for his shear printing, which he is the discoverer of. The graphic artist controls the process, but has little influence on what happens and thus on the end result. In 1960, Van Maarseveen, together with his colleagues Dirkje Kuik and JH Moesman, founded the Utrecht ??Grafisch Gezelschap De Luis?? on. In 1993 he was co-founder of the Association of Original Graphics (now Graphics Platform VOG), of which he was chairman until 2000. He was also a member of the Gouda Graphics Coalition, which has been in existence since 2002. Van Maarseveen was emeritus professor of constitutional and administrative law at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
