Hendrik Cornelis KRANENBURG Jr. (Amsterdam 1917 - 1997 Bergen op Zoom)
Lived and worked in Amsterdam, Laren (1943) and since 1962 in Bergen op Zoom. He was a student of the Rijks Akademie voor Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam. HCKranenburg painted, watercoloured, drew (also with pen), etched and lithographed cityscapes, landscapes and portraits. He also made wall paintings and was a gifted sculptor. However, he is best known for his oil paintings.
He painted in a smooth impressionistic style in the vein of the Hague School. His rich color palette was very pronounced and the paint was applied directly to the canvas with smooth brushstrokes.
