As a boy, Henk van der Vet has been fascinated by the magic of the camera. What fascinates him even more are the many possibilities of printing the image once made, which can be done in many different ways. Henk van der Vet always manages to combine photography with other techniques such as editing, tricking and reproducing in an original way. Henk van der Vet coined the name 'photography' for this art form. He himself is a photographer.
Because Henk van der Vet had gained so much knowledge and experience in the field of photography, well-known artists also come to Henk van der Vet's studio to make screen prints with him. Karel Appel, Bram Bogart, Co Westerik, Kees van Bohemen, Tabuchi, Gillet, van Diemen and other artists were and are regular guests in his studio. This collaboration has led to the most surprising prints. In 1977 Henk van der Vet made the album 'Seven Summer Days' with Karel Appel, in which Appel painted his photographic skills.
Nowadays Henk van der Vet is also fascinated by computer design. But despite the infinite possibilities of designing with the computer, he also continues to draw photographic prints.
