Henri van LERVEN (The Hague 1875 - Arnhem 1954)
Belonging to the group of the Veluwe painters, he lived and worked in Arnhem, Heelsum, Renkum and Oosterbeek. Painted and watercolored many landscapes and especially heath views. He was also an art dealer, potter and pottery painter.
In 1921 the pottery factory Ram was founded in Arnhem on the Schaapsdrift with the aim of carrying out Colenbrander's designs as well as possible. Everything that was humanly and technically possible at the time was used. The initiators of the company are painter, art dealer and pottery painter Henri van Lerven (1875-1954) and the banker Charles Engelberts (1881-1954). The artist himself, already in his eighties at the time, made hundreds of new sets and dozens of new models. In his later life he was also a very skilled restorer of paintings.
