Ineke van Dijk was born in 1940 in Gouda. At the age of 16 she started her artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam in the direction of Sculpturing with Jaap Kaas. She then continued her education with Prof. Frederico Carasso at the Jan van Eijck Academy in Maastricht. In August 1962 Ineke held her first exhibition; the year in which she also carried out her first major assignment. In addition to free work, she makes sculptures, reliefs, portraits, medals and "awards" for private individuals, municipal institutions and companies. These are mainly made of bronze. Over the years, Ineke van Dijk specialized in subjects such as humans and animals. She expresses her emotions sensitively in an abstracted realism. Especially ballets, inspired by the Nederlands Dans Theater, among others, Ineke exhibited at home and abroad. Her work can therefore be found in almost all countries of Western Europe, as well as in Poland (the Penningen Museum), America and Malaysia.
