Jacques TANGE (Vlissingen 1960)

Painter, draftsman.

Education:

Tange was educated at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam.

Since 2004 he lives and works in Schiedam.

Jacques Tange is inspired by medieval decorated manuscripts, which he applies to contemporary themes. He expresses metaphors on the basis of bright colours. His work often deals with the relationship between men and women, the city, and the seclusion of humans. Tange also owns two galleries in Schiedam.

Exhibitions and prizes:

Tange's work has been exhibited several times in the Netherlands, including in Monaco, Paris, Spain, the United States, Belgium, Italy and England.

In 2005 Tange was elected Artist of the Year by the Kunstweek Foundation.
