Jan Sluijters junior (1914 - 2005), son of Jan Sluijters Sr., was familiar with the painting profession from an early age due to his father's profession. He was educated at the National School for Drawing Teachers and the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and specialized in painting, drawing and watercolors of cityscapes, still lifes and especially landscapes. His colorful and expressive impressionism is somewhat reminiscent of that of his father. The artist lived and worked in Amsterdam and from 1945 in Baambrugge. He was a member of the Amsterdam painters' associations St.Lucasen Arti et Amicitiae. Exhibited in many galleries and museums and has work represented in many collections at home and abroad.
