For some time he received education at the Art Academy 'Vredeman de Vries Foundation' in Leeuwarden, but he soon discovered that working in groups and creating abstract art was not for him.
From that moment on, Johannes Eerdmans went his own way and continued to draw and paint according to his own ideas. He prefers to paint still lifes, but Eerdmans also paints cityscapes, ships and winter and summer landscapes. Eerdmans' admiration for the Old Dutch Masters has increased over the years. Without showing a specific preference, his work nevertheless expresses the inspiration of the old masters. Connoisseurs especially praise the special atmosphere that emanates from his finely painted oil paintings on panels. This fine painter is valued with a high WG of 15 on the list of Dutch Painters!
