Born in Smilde in 1950.
Education:
Homan attended the evening school at the Groningen Academy Minerva from 1968 to 1973, and the day school there from 1973 to 1975. From 1975 to 1976 he attended the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.
Lives and works in Bakhuizen.
After his art training, Reinder Homan specialized in etching. The subject of his art is nature, which he playfully depicts in zinc and copper. Subtle details show Homan's attention and passion and show his love and respect for nature. Homan creates tranquil works, but retains the purity of nature, which is sometimes difficult for people to see. Homan teaches etching at the Minerva Academy, and has been a member of the Haagse Etsclub since 1987.
Exhibitions and prizes:
Reinder Homan has had several solo exhibitions since the 1980s, including in the Singer Museum Laren and Pulchri Studio The Hague. His work was also part of several group exhibitions. He has received several prizes, one of which is the Dutch Graphics Prize in 1990.
