Education: TeHaTex in Delft and St. Lucas in Kapellen (Belgium).
When creating her work, Yolanda Philippens is mainly inspired by weathered and dilapidated buildings and walls and landscape impressions. She shows the beauty of decay on the canvas and lets her canvases speak through thick layers of oil paint and mixed techniques.
The work of Yolanda Philippens is characterized by a powerful and intriguing play of matter, technique and abstract expression. One recognizes traces of fields, flower fields, snowy fields, and trees. The viewer is given the space to discover or recognize his own image.
Yolanda Philippens works with natural pigments and handmade paper. From 1982 to 2004 she lived in Belgium.
In 1983 she exhibited in the Singer museum in Laren.
