Schiedam Artists Community S. '45

In 1945 the Schiedam painters decided to work together, from this initiative the Schiedam Artists Community S. 45 was founded. The members of the S. 45 had some expectations at the time of its creation. They thought that after the war everything would be fine again and that after all the misery people would focus on "the beautiful". The association was affiliated with the Geration of Artists, so the members of the S. 45 were not amateurs. The Schiedam Artists' Association exhibited their works in the center of Schiedam. These works were renewed every six weeks, which could also be bought directly by people.
