Alena Čermáková is a Czech artist who graduated cum laude from the gymnasium and between 1945 and 1950 she received her training as a painter and graphic designer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. From 1953 to 1960 she worked as a convincing communist in the Army Art Studio, the art studio of the army. She has been an independent artist since 1960 and she celebrates her "freedom" with a more exuberant color palette and starts painting after nature. She also makes many study trips to Finland, Egypt and Uzbekistan. She exhibits in Berlin, Bratislava, Prague and Budapest. Her work hangs in Prague Castle, among other places.
