Bob Bonies (Bob Nieuwenhuis) 1937 – present, is a Dutch visual artist, he mainly worked in The Hague and had exhibitions in museums at home and abroad, including the Haags Gemeentemuseum. His most important works are considered Concretism (Geometry). He studied at the Free Academy and the Royal Academy of Art in his hometown The Hague and also studied at the Konstfack-Skolan in Stockholm. Bob Bonies, the stage name under which Bob Nieuwenhuis has been manifesting himself since 1959, has been prominent in the art world from the start of his career. First of all with his concrete work, with which he has acquired a prominent place in the visual arts alongside Ad Dekkers and Peter Struycken. Furthermore, because of his involvement in the design of schools, offices and other utility buildings and not least because of his political activities, which were aimed at recognition of artistry. Bob Bonies and the Style His work fits in with the ideas of the Bauhaus and De Stijl and Concretism. These consisted of a connection between the visual, the pursuit of a new worldview and making the arts widely accessible. The essence of his work, mainly paintings and graphics, is a balanced and strict arrangement of concrete visual elements: shape (geometric), size (usually rectangular surfaces) and contrasting colors (e.g. red-blue, blue-white or blue-yellow). Frans Molenaar was a Dutch fashion designer. From 1955-1958 he studied to become a tailor in Amsterdam. After his studies he did an internship with Charles Montaigne in Paris from 1959-1960 and worked for Gerard Pipart with Nina Ricci, also in Paris from 1961-1964. He achieved international fame as a couturier.
