The etching is hand-signed in pencil by the artist at the bottom right.

The etching is ACID-FREE and framed with an ACID-FREE passe-partout and the
original brown / oak frame of 2.5 cm. wide.

Cornelis Brandenburg was born in the year 1884 in Wormerveer.

In the year 1902 he goes to Amsterdam and studied at the Teekenschool voor Kunstambachten.

As a pottery painter he worked at "De Distel" in Amsterdam.

Pupil of the famous etcher P. Dupont.

After this he concentrates completely on the etchings and is the most important etcher of the Amsterdamsche Canals, but also etchings of Utrecht, Dordrecht, The Hague and other cities, among others.

More than 100 etchings of Amsterdam and here the Archive of Amsterdam has more than 60 etchings.
In the year 1954 he died in Amsterdam.

A book has been published of his work with all his etchings.
