David Schulman painted landscapes, village views and harbor views in and around the Gooi. He was therefore one of the most successful Laren School painters. Sometimes Schulman also made a painting trip to the Zuiderzee. Besides landscapes, he often made commissioned portraits and still lifes. David Schulman executed all this in a naturalistic and also impressionistic, almost dreamy, style. He has received several awards for his work. David Schulman was also chairman of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. Work by this artist can be found in the Singer Museum in Laren and in the Goois Museum in Hilversum, among others.
