| Beautiful rectangular coffee table designed and made by Paul Kingma. The heavy concrete top rests on 2 metal L-shaped bases that are painted black. Beautiful composition of slate, stones, copper and brass makes this table a work of art to use. This is signed by Kingma and bought by the previous owners in the 1980s. Paul Kingma was known for his architectural tables that pay tribute to the riches of nature by traveling extensively in search of rare materials, raw or industrially produced. He combines resorting to materials used in architecture such as stone, metal and concrete, with richly varied materials such as brass, copper, glass or ceramics. All of his tables are unique one-off productions and when he became famous most of the orders were from special customers. All his tables are marked, the early ones only at the bottom, from the 60s he started to mark them with a metal plate at the top and later he added the year of manufacture. |
