Anthony Waterloo 1610-1676 Three etchings with defects 1. The traveler and his dog. Signature “AWaterlo fe.” top left, number “V” top right. Print on yellowish paper, late 17th century or 18th century. The image is intact but has a slight color difference in the top left of the sky. On the back three small paper remains of alignment. Reverse brown spotty, on the front mainly visible in the margins and upper left in the sky. Image 12.5 x 14 cm, outside 4 mm margin. 2. Two travelers on a sloping forest path. Signature “Antoni Waterlo fe.” top left. The image is largely sharp and clear, but the bottom left and top right are blurred from the print. Print on sturdy paper 18th century. Image 11.8 x 14.1 cm, outside 5 mm margin. Some brown moisture dots in the top left margin. Otherwise clean front and back. 3. Walkers in a forest lane (=Bartsch 83). Signature “Antoni Waterlo fe. et ex.” top left. Cut off at the bottom and top to the image, left and right only 1 to 2 mm margin. Tear with hole, thin spot and a few mm image loss at top center. Smaller thin spot at top right. Pieces of brown paper on the back from previous gluing. The image is brown speckled in the sky, otherwise clean. All in all, this etching is in very poor condition.
