Het werk van Bonies kenmerkt zich door een evenwichtige en strikte ordening van beeldelementen, die bestaan uit primaire kleuren en vormen. In zijn creaties worden geometrische vormen in voornamelijk rood, blauw, geel en wit, zoals driehoeken, cirkels, rechthoeken of strepen, steeds dikker verbeeld. Alhoewel het arsenaal fundamentele vormen, dat horizontaal, verticaal of diagonaal geplaatst is, beperkt is, is ieder werk weer bijzonder en vernieuwend dankzij het gebruik van verschillende composities en kleuren. Ook al zijn Bonies’ werken geordend en doen ze formeel aan, toch hebben ze een vrolijk karakter.
