About the painting:
"Bodies of water." A series of paintings about women symbolized as water. Why water? To begin with, from an ecological point of view, our waters, seas, oceans, are in need. They are being starved of by plastic and pollution. Water is the most magical element on earth. It exists as a solid, liquid and gas. Water is life, fertility. All the water on Earth has been here since the beginning. Water can be gentle and offer salvation, but it can also be a destructive force of nature that nothing can match. I have chosen admirable women from history who also fought for their "right" to exist to represent our waters by adding their names to the paintings. This was named Eva Péron

“volveré y seré millones” (I will return and be with millions. A promise she made shortly before her. The passion and determination with which she fought for the well-being of her people is welcome in a millionfold. Eva Maria Duarte de Perón became often affectionately called Evita. The “First Lady” of Argentina may not have been politically elected, but she still had a lot of power and influence on government policy. Eva was only part of political life for 6 years, but in that short time she became a real legend. The image people had of Evita was either too rosy or downright negative. But what she achieved in her short life cannot be disputed. After the death of her father, she ended up at a very young age in poverty. At the age of 15, she moved to Buenos Aires on her own, where she started working as a radio and film actress. She met her future husband Juan Perón (then a colonel) during a fundraising campaign after an earthquake. In the run-up to his presidential elections, Eva became the first woman in Argentine history to be part of the campaign. She traveled with Juan to every corner of the country and used her radio program to convince the poor and workers to vote for him. Once Perón became president, Evita slowly but surely took on a more prominent political role, something that was not appreciated by Argentina's military leadership. She would eventually have more power than the vice president. She founded a women's association that built houses and schools and ensured that everyone was entitled to the same medical care. She also founded the women's wing of the Peronist movement, the first powerful women's political movement in Argentina. In 1951, under popular pressure, she ran for vice president. A mass meeting was held in her support in which two million people took part. It was the largest demonstration ever held for a female politician. However, after threats of a military coup, she withdrew her candidacy. She died in 1952 at the age of 33. Eva was seen as the spiritual leader of the nation and was therefore given a state funeral. It is estimated that 1 million people came to pay their last respects to her, and a trade union even petitioned the Vatican to have her canonized. To date, the massiveness of mourning after her death has only been matched by the death of Princess Diana.
