Erik Fens does not seek, he finds. Since 1970 he has found much more than he could ever have looked for! Masks, bread knives, objects covered with shells, trays in the shape of tree leaves, pregnant belly jugs, bottles lined with wood with faces cut out, bottles in the shape of plants and animals, postcards of the bear pit in the Swiss city of Bern, photographs of women looking over their left shoulder, newspaper headlines containing the word "red," picture postcards of chimpanzees practicing male occupations, and many hundreds of 23ring binder albums of paper collections. Six collections were on display in the shop windows: butterfly cabinets, walking sticks with metal shields from walks taken, books that on closer inspection are not books, newspaper headlines containing the word 'thinking', photographs of framed people and bottles in the shape of people.
