Biography: Ernst Vijlbrief was born in Utrecht on November 25, 1934 and died on December 27, 2010 in Amsterdam. Lived and worked in Utrecht, Ibiza, Florence and Rome and since 1958 in Amsterdam. Student of the Institute for Applied Arts Education in Amsterdam and of the Academia di Porta Romana in Florence. Paints in an abstract style and made erotic drawings. In 1961 Galerie de Posthoorn published a portfolio called "Spel en Dederlaag" by Vijlbrief and poems by Simon Vinkenoog. He was also a member of the society "Kunstliefde" in Utrecht and of the BBK in Amsterdam. Work in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and Schiedam, among others.
