Evert-Jan Ligtelijn - Southern European landscape

Evert Jan Ligtelijn (pseud.: Pe Lucia and his real surname is Ligtelyn) was born on November 13, 1893 in Amsterdam and died in Laren on December 26, 1975.
The self-taught Evert Jan Ligtelijn lived and worked in Amsterdam, Naarden, Gorssel, Amstelveen, Laren, on the Canary Islands and in North, Central and South America.
His Amsterdam cityscapes in particular vary in style from an extremely moody impressionism to powerful, very idiosyncratically designed impressions. He found everything interesting to paint. That is why his work consists of village views as well as figure representations, interiors, landscapes, lake and city views and still lifes.
The work has been framed, but the frame is no longer very nice. Still intact. The work has acquired some dirt over the years. However, the colors are still beautiful and the painting is still in good condition
