Gerard van Vliet - Schilderij landschap

Oil painting with frame. The painting is loose and painted in an impressionistic style. The paint is applied both thick and thin on the canvas. Any craquelure. The canvas is intact, but the artwork has minor damage, which is clearly visible in the photo with the name Ger van Vliet.
Gerardus Johannes Jacobus van Vliet lived and worked in Amsterdam. He was a student at the National Normal School (1900-1902) and later at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam.
He painted and drew landscapes and cityscapes, and taught Bertha Müller, among others.
Ger. van Vliet was a member of 'Arti en Amicitiae' and 'St. Lucas' in Amsterdam, of the Rembrandt Society and the Netherlands Artists Society. He was also in possession of several high awards.
