• THREE (3) printed in-house on Arches paper - small edition (1/40) - drypoint Etchings by Hans Abbing. Year: 1981. Dimensions 33 x 50cm. The etchings are numbered in pencil and signed and dated at the bottom right by the artist. The etchings are in good condition.

After studying economics at the University of Groningen, which he graduated with honors in 1970, he initially worked in Groningen, and later for several years at the Ministry of Culture, Recreation and Social Work. In 1978 he went to study at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, which he left with a diploma in 1983. Initially he made many paintings and graphics, but later he became more concerned with drawings, often heads or nudes in color, and photography, in which he made extensive use of distortions.
In the meantime, he was and is also concerned with economics, especially the economics of art. From 1990 to 2005 he taught at Rotterdam Erasmus University, where he received his PhD in 2002. From September 2005 to August 2008, Abbing was special professor in art sociology at the University of Amsterdam, where he held the Boekman chair.
