This oil painting on canvas (70 x 60 cm) is one of the most important works of the Belgian still life painter and illustrator Jean-Jacques Foulon (born in Kraainem, Flanders in 1923, died in 1980 in Brussels, Belgium).
During the 1940s, Jean-Jacques Foulon studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Leuven with Alfred Delaunois (1875-1941), a realist painter and student of Constantin Meunier.
Foulon mainly painted flowers, landscapes, river views and sailing boats. He had many exhibitions in Belgium (Antwerp, Brussels, Liège), but also in the United States (Denver) and Canada (Montreal).
Works by Jean-Jacques Foulon are part of many renowned art collections. His paintings are highly sought after collector's items. Some of his paintings can be seen in the museum l'Académie de Beaux-Arts de Louvain.
His works are sold by galleries in Europe, such as Galerie Doris in Poland. Some of his works are mentioned in Belgian art books.
The painting is signed by hand and in very good condition.
