Valeska Judith Satsuki Boer, born 27-11-1935 in Djakarta (Indonesia) and died 8 April 2013 in Húns (Huins) (Friesland), sculptor and painter. Education: Royal Academy of Art The Hague. Judith Boer is the woman who appears under the name Sarah in several novels by Gerard Reve and who made a great impression on him. In "The Book of Violet and Death", Reve devotes an entire chapter to her. They were fellow villagers in Greonterp in Friesland for seven years and had a special bond with each other. Judith was the role model for Reve. Judith Boer mainly made watercolors, using batik powder for brighter colours.
