Marc Chagall maakte altijd een een aantal zw/w drukken om in te kleuren om te zien wat het effect zou zijn. Meestal werden deze vernietigd. Dit is een proef waarvan zeker is dat deze bij Mourlot in Parijs vandaan komt omdat de drukker Serge Gregoire aldaar werkzaam was en met Chagall heeft gewerkt. Gekocht via Hakkert/vriend Serge Gregoire. Handtekening kan echt zijn
