Miroslav Rada

Miroslav Rada was part of a large family of artists in Prague, with his wife Jarmila Radová (born 1940) and his children Ondrej Rada (born 1974), Vojtěch Rada (born 1979) and Renáta Radová (born 1974). Book publications include On the Verge: Poems 2009, Ne pane Shakespeare 2007, 366 Goodnight Stories 1983 and Birds' Eggs and Nests 1971.

In addition to sacral paintings, which he drew not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad for church interiors, he also painted pictures with secular themes and illustrated books (e.g. the theological book by Professor Hromádka). Between 1945 and 1950 he studied at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University under the direction of Cyril Bouda, Karel Lidický and Martin Salcman. He was a member of the “Transformation” group, with which he took part in several exhibitions, but has been exhibiting independently at home and abroad (e.g. in Germany, the USA and Chile) since 1962.
