Olieverf op paneel van Mozes (Moos) Cohen 1901-1942. Aparte Compositie van een stilleven met een olifantje en een Keulse pot bij een doorkijk uit een raam op een besneeuwde straat. Het werk meet 21 cm breed x 30 cm hoog. Het is ingelijst in een passende lijst van 27 x 35 cm.
Mozes Cohen (1901-1942) was kunstenaar. Van 1921 tot 1928 heeft hij de Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten te Amsterdam bezocht. Naast het schilderen en tekenen gaf hij tekenles op de Hendrick de Keyserschool te Amsterdam. In 1942 werd hij gedeporteerd naar Auschwitz waar hij op 7 november werd vermoord.
Werk van Cohen is te vinden in het Joods Historisch Museum te Amsterdam.
Tot welke 'school' men Moos Cohen moet rekenen is moeilijk te zeggen. Sommigen rekenen hem tot het populisme. Zelf maakte het hem niet zoveel uit zolang hij maar niet tot de Nieuwe Zakelijkheid werd gerekend.
