Ewoud de Kat (1904-1974) Born in Vlissingen and took drawing lessons from Gerard Jacobs there. He attended the Academy for BK in Rotterdam. He lived and worked in Vlissingen, Rotterdam and from 1935 in Haarlem. He was a painter, draftsman and watercolorist in a style reminiscent of the Flemish expressionists. Subjects included landscapes, seascapes, farmers and fishermen.
