Roel Hofman* - Born May 14, 1956 in Rotterdam. At a young age he became fascinated by drawing and painting. From the age of 8 he works consciously and seriously on his technique and style. At the age of 16 he was apprenticed to the Rotterdam painter Cornelis Witters. His talent soon became apparent from the prizes he won for his work.

In the eighties he took lessons to increase his skill in fine painting. He soon became a teacher instead of a student at a drawing and painting academy in Spijkenisse. In his view, the use of color in a painting is one of the most important elements. That's the first thing most people instinctively respond to. This element is clearly visible in his paintings.
