Graphic print (screen print) designed for the 20th anniversary of The Santa Fe Opera in 1976. This is an original screen print in beautiful full colors, as usual with Indiana!

The work is framed in a black metal frame, behind a dark blue passe-partout.

Robert Indiana (New Castle, 1928 - Vinalhaven, 2018) was an American sculptor, painter and poet. Indiana is known as the Pop Art artist of words, signs and symbols. He became the painter of the "American dream." Indiana's work often consists of bold, simple, iconic images. Especially numbers and short words like EAT, HUG, ART and, his most famous example, LOVE. Robert Indiana created his most famous work LOVE in 1964 for a Christmas card from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. However, because the map bore only the museum's copyright and not Robert Indiana's, it could not defend itself against copying his successful motif under then-current US copyright law. As a result, LOVE became a common symbol all over the world, but hardly anyone knew its origin.
