Plaster artwork by ; Tommaso Geraci born June 29, 1931 in Sclafani Bagni Sicily died August 26, 2020 Cefalù Sicily was an Italian visual artist and sculptor. Tommaso Geraci was educated at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Italy. At the age of 28 he left Sicily and settled in the Netherlands. In the 1970s he returned to Sicily and settled in Cefalù. There he created paintings, bronze statues, medals and plaques. His work includes a bronze plaque commemorating anti-mafia judges Falcone and Borsellino at Palermo International Airport and a statue of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina in Poggio Maria, Cefalù. In the Netherlands he is known for the monument to the Space Age in Leersum, after the launch of the first Sputnik. Geraci was awarded the Italian national honor of Cavaliere dell'Ordine della stella della Solidarietà Italiana (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity) in 1974.
