Zoltan Forrai - Fishing at the harbour.

Zoltan Forrai is internationally known as a phenomenal illustrator. After his training at the Hofmann Schule für Bildende Kunst in Munich, he soon received various assignments to make illustrations for important magazines such as Simplissimus and Le Rire in Paris. In 1939 he left for Amsterdam where he obtained Dutch nationality. See the RKD website.
In this watercolor drawing with the resigned fisherman, the blast furnaces of IJmuiden are probably visible in the distance. The work is signed at the bottom left. Both work and frame are in good condition. The work still has good color.
