Cees Heuff (1933-1993)
Cees Heuff (1933 -1993) was educated at the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem from 1951 to 1956. Initially he followed the illustrative direction, but soon started painting. His teachers included Fred Sieger and Hendrik Valk (de Stijl). He was a versatile man: in addition to the worries surrounding the insurance office, he was chairman of the Fruit and Vegetable Auction in Ochten for many years. He designed the house on the Hamsche Bouwing together with his wife. But his great love was painting and drawing. He could be found in the studio almost every evening. Cees Heuff was certainly not tied to one style and mastered many techniques. The result is a very varied oeuvre of oil paint, watercolor, ink, pencil and chalk. But his subjects are also very varied: from childhood memories in wartime and illustrations in a children's book to many landscape paintings and abstract work.
