Leon Lommaert (Borgerhout 1904 - Antwerp 1978) was a painter, watercolorist and draftsman of cityscapes and of the Scheldt, as well as still lifes, Kempen interiors and landscapes. In 1927 he became acquainted with Emile Van Dooren, he also received lessons from Ludovic Janssen and Isidore Opsomer. He received training in figure drawing from Jan van Puyenbroek, at Akos in Antwerp.
