Pieter Schotman (1943)

After a successful career in banking, Pieter decided in 1977 to dedicate his life entirely to painting. He travels through the United States for several months, and finally decides to settle in Canada. In Toronto he is educated at the Institute for Visual Arts, ARTS´SAKE.

After a period of two years he decides to leave for London to take further painting and drawing lessons at Heatherly's College in Chelsea. During this five year period he lives and works in an old wharf in London's East End.

Over the years he has had exhibitions in Toronto, London, Birmingham, Utrecht, Brussels, The Hague and Ambleville (Fr.). Various works have been purchased by the Dutch government and adorn the walls of embassies abroad. One of his large paintings has also been purchased by the FAO for a lobby in Rome. Work in various private collections.
