Education:

Thomas Lenk has lived and worked at Schloss Tierberg in Braunsbach near Schwabisch Hall since 1974.

Artist Thomas Lenk started his training at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart in 1950, but he exchanged his studies for a traditional stonemason training. Lenk created his first sculptures from 1952. two years later he established himself as an independent artist.

In the early period of his work much of his work was figurative, around 1955 this changed and his work became abstract. Ten years later, Thomas Lenk gained international fame for developing stacked sculptures called: Schichtplastiken.
