Tom Smetsers, (1982) a youngster in the Dutch art world. With his 32 years of life he creates mature images of a high level.
His harmonic forms, in which the lines of the rotations rise excitingly, are described by him as; "Prototypes of the New Age".
The basis of these ingenious creations is located on Sribuat, an archipelago in the middle of the South China Sea. Here he made a tour in 2006 and photographed enormous shell shapes to his heart's content. When he returned home, it turned out to be the first step towards what has now unmistakably become 'his' handwriting.
