Aldert Gerardus Johannes Mantje, beeldhouwer, graficus, schilder, geboren 27-2-1954 te Velsen, Rietveld Academie (1980-83). Was één van de organisatoren van de alternatieve galerie Aorta in het oude NRC-gebouw in de binnenstad van Amsterdam. 2-3 jaar vormde Aldert Mantje met Harald Vlught een kunstenaars duo. Vanaf 1983 maakten ze beiden de overstap naar het ‘officiële’ circuit en traden toe tot de succesvolle en avant-gardistische Galerie The Livingroom in Amsterdam.
