Bengt Karl Erik Lindström was one of Sweden's best-known contemporary artists with a characteristic style of different colors, often with distorted faces.

The style is strongly linked to that of the CoBrA group, of which Lindström was not a member. He is often mentioned as an artist in the CoBrA style.
Lindström was born in 1925 in Storsjö kapell, Härjedalen, Sweden. In 1944 he moved to Stockholm to train with the Swedish painter Isaac Grünewald. In 1948 he moved to Paris, where he studied with the French painters André Lhote and Fernand Léger. He remained in France in Savigny sur Orge for the remainder of his artistic career.
