For sale: large work from private collection: Abito bianco I (Casper Faassen) 1 of a beautiful series of works by the Leiden artist Casper Faassen. Casper Faassen made the pieces in a specialized studio in India where he made unique use of the natural materials, color pigments and new techniques available there. The basis for the works is thick 1000(!) grams of locally handmade cardboard paper, in this case glued to old canvas water bags. The piece was then processed and constructed by the artist using locally excavated clay types and mixed materials and techniques. Casper Faassen has once again managed to create a subtle yet powerful field of tension between figuration and matter.
