Work celebrating the Beethoven Year 2020. No. 3 in a series of 9 works. The maker about the work:
"My knowledge of Beethoven was not very great. I stuck with the well-known pieces such as
the 5th Symphony Opus 67:1 and the 9th Symphony Opus 125, including Ode an die Freude. In preparation for this project, I started randomly listening to Beethoven pieces in March without knowing titles or other details. I got to know the contradictions in Beethoven's music. I have personally experienced loud tones and soft ones alternate.
It was and is my idea to start drawing on music and focus on the pieces of Beethoven's music that are closest to me and that speak to my feelings. At first the idea was to make 9 works that were all the same size. I have deviated from that. There are nine works with different sizes, ranging from 30x40 cm (glass size 50x70 cm) to size A5 (glass size 30x40 cm). The size of the work symbolizes the love for the music that inspired it. The bigger, the more loved. I selected a piece from each of the nine symphonies and drew in pencil to music, whatever shapes came to mind. Then, while listening to each Opus, I added color shades with watercolor paint. Furthermore, I am very interested in the figure of Beethoven. His face mask is a great source of inspiration. " This mask was made when Beethoven was 42, in 1812, by artist Franz Klein. This was done on behalf of two piano builders who were friends with Beethoven. The mask is the most faithful representation of the living Beethoven and has been used several times to create busts of the composer.
