Biography
My fascination for people arose early on from drawing. The portraits I made at the Free Academy naturally grew into complete people. Enough material, because I like to look at people, almost shamelessly, at faces, postures, movements and relationships. A gallery owner once remarked that I devour people with my eyes. There's something in that. I store the images I see in my memory and then hardly think about them anymore. But the moment they are needed, they spring out again and turn into paint, clay or plaster model. As shamelessly as I saved them.


From that moment on they lead their own lives. They tell their own story. They evoke emotion, tempt you to speculate. A few recognize their neighbor or second cousin. Do I have to say something about that? No, art should speak for itself and need no explanation.

I also cherish an endless fascination for materials and techniques. Put me in any workshop and all kinds of new ideas jump at me from all sides.
When purchasing, the work can be picked up in 's-Gravenzande (near The Hague).
