Willem de Kok geboren 1883 te Eindhoven en overleden in 1959, woonde en werkte in deze stad, Amsterdam, Bussum, Den Haag, Soest, daarna weer in Eindhoven.
De Kok behaalde in 1901 de hoogste onderscheiding op de Tekenschool te Eindhoven, leerling van P. de Boer, W. v. Bokhoven en Ant. van Wely, studeerde ook aan de Akademie te Munchen, maakte studiereizen naar Oostenrijk en Italië - Rome, Florence, Napels en Capri. Schilderde o.a. zeegezichten (zie Pieter Scheen), ook vermeld in Luns en Mak v. Waay.
Schilderde en tekende, vooral veel muurschilderingen toen hij werkte voor het atelier voor kerkelijke kunst van W. van Bokhoven te Bussum, later legde hij zich meer toe op portretschilderen, maakte o.a. een portret van koningin Wilhelmina. Schilderde daarnaast veel landschappen en zeegezichten. Gaf les aan M. van der Sangen.
