About the artist:
Wouter Hisschemöller was born in Haarlem in 1965. He studied visual arts at the Utrecht School of the Arts, where he graduated in 1990 as a visual artist in the field of etching, lithography and printing. After his training he worked as an artist in Utrecht and from 1993 in Amsterdam with fellow artists in a joint studio for the graphic arts Grafisch Collectief Thuts. During these years he took part in gallery exhibitions, sold work through 'art lending' and created some commissions. Much of his work is about life in the city.
