Ethnography

LWALWA

Tribe from the south-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola.

The masks of the Lwalwa tribe can be recognized by characteristic long straight faces, present noses, square eyes and a small hole between the nose and mouth, through which a cord runs so that the mask can be attached to the head of the dancer.
